A nurturing first step into learning.
We know that a child's first experiences of school and learning shapes their whole future: their opinions of themselves as learners, their love of learning and their belief that they can achieve whatever they set their mind to.
It is a privilege that we able to start children's learning with us at Belmore Nursery as soon as they turn 3.
Our Nursery provides a caring, stimulating and supportive environment where children feel happy, confident and eager to explore the world around them.
Our Nursery is often a child’s first experience of education, and we work closely with families to ensure it feels calm, reassuring and full of joy.

Part of the Belmore Experience
Even in Nursery, children benefit from the wider Belmore Experience. It is through these rich experiences that children develop that early love of learning and motivation to learn more.
You might see children planting and caring for flowers in the outdoor area, baking bread, negotiating to build towers with their friends, sharing stories in cosy reading corners, taking part in their first performance amongst the many activities and enriching experiences on offer.
Preparing for Reception and beyond
Belmore Nursery provides strong foundations for a smooth transition into Reception. Children develop:
- Confidence and independence
- Positive relationships with adults and peers
- Early learning skills and routines
- A love of learning that stays with them
Our nursery is a valued part of our school community. Throughout their time at nursery they experience elements of the wider school and so it doesn’t feel like a big step when they move up to nursery. From attending some of our celebration assemblies to taking part in our PTA events; regularly visiting the reception classrooms and story times with the reception staff to older children coming to read and play with them, we ensure that our nursery children are included in our caring school community.
When it comes to moving up to reception at the end of their time at nursery, a carefully planned extended transition means that children and their families are ready and excited for that next step.
Nursery Times and Term Dates
We offer 15- and 30-hour places for children as soon as they turn three.
We also have a limited number of spaces for two-year-olds with a 15 hour code.
Our sessions run Monday to Friday:
Morning session: 8.30-11.30
Afternoon session: 12.30-3.30
All day: 8.30-3.30
We offer full flexibility of sessions including paid top up sessions charged at £4.50 an hour.
Our nursery term dates are in line with the school term dates with the exception that the nursery is closed on the last day or each full term. Our term dates are available here:
