Music
At Belmore, our Music curriculum is designed to inspire a lifelong love for music, encourage self-expression, and develop key skills in every child. We aim to provide a rich and engaging musical experience that allows students to explore, create, and appreciate a wide range of musical genres, styles, and traditions.
Through singing, playing instruments, listening, and composing, our intent is to help children develop confidence in their musical abilities and foster their creativity. We want to build a strong understanding of musical elements such as rhythm, melody, harmony, and dynamics, enabling students to appreciate the diverse ways music can express emotions, stories, and ideas.
Music is an important tool for building teamwork, discipline, and self-expression, and we strive to provide opportunities for all students to work together, whether in performance, composition, or discussion. Our goal is for children to develop a deep appreciation for music, both as performers and listeners, while also nurturing their ability to work creatively and collaboratively.
By the end of their primary school journey, we aim for every child to have developed musical confidence, skills, and an appreciation for the power of music to connect and inspire. We want students to leave school with a sense of joy and accomplishment in their musical journey, carrying a love for music that will continue to grow throughout their lives.
