Vaisakhi Celebrations

On Thursday 31st March, Year 6 pupils Samrath Vohra, Amitoj Gill and Chitkaran Gakhal independently planned and performed Belmore’s first ever assembly on the Sikh Festival, Vaisakhi.

Vaisakhi is one of the most important and holiest dates in the Sikh calendar as it is a day to celebrate 1699-the year when Sikhism was born as a collective faith and the birth of the Khalsa. The assembly also presented famous Sikhs, including the most famous of all: Samrath and his dad! We are extremely grateful for Samrath and his peers for highlighting the need to ensure children are educated about all faiths and further promoting the school’s diversity- an attribute of Belmore which we take great pride in! Well done boys!
