PE

At Belmore, our Physical Education (PE) curriculum is designed to inspire a love of physical activity and support the development of essential skills that promote a healthy, active lifestyle. We aim to encourage every child to engage in physical activity, build confidence, and understand the importance of physical health, fitness, and well-being.

Our intent is to provide a broad and inclusive PE program that develops a wide range of skills, from fundamental movement skills to team-based sports and individual activities. We want students to enjoy participating in a variety of physical challenges, while developing their teamwork, communication, and resilience. Through activities such as gymnastics, athletics, dance, and games, we aim to nurture physical competence, promote positive attitudes, and encourage self-discipline.

We also place emphasis on the values of fairness, respect, and perseverance, helping children understand the importance of being active not only for their physical health but also for their mental and emotional well-being. Our goal is to instill the idea that physical activity is a lifelong pursuit, and that being active can be fun, rewarding, and integral to leading a healthy, balanced life.

By the end of their primary school journey, we want all students to have a positive attitude toward physical activity, the confidence to participate in a variety of sports and physical challenges, and an understanding of the importance of maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle.
