One child per class from Nursery to Year 6 was nominated by teachers for the Pupil of the Year, Pupil of the Term and the Right Choice award. Certificates were presented to the children at the special VIP assemblies this week.

This was the final year that we administered the Year 2 national tests in Reading and Maths. I would like to take this opportunity to tell all the parents and carers of all the children in Year 2, what incredibly resilient children we have at Belmore. The teachers and support staff are so proud of them for achieving the results that we have had this year. We need to remember that these children also had their education disrupted by Covid.
Reception were able to bring our project ‘Big Wide World’ to life on our visit to Woburn Safari Park. We have been learning about animals from all over the world.
In Reception this half term our project was ‘Big Wide World’. This project teaches children about the global community to which they belong and explores how living things, communities and climates differ around the world.

Summer Term has been a busy one for year 4! We have been investigating Crime and Punishment in history and have compared the types of crimes and punishment over different eras.
This term Year 5 have been focussing on creating their Final piece for Art. We have been looking at the topic of Mixed media and how this challenges our usual ideas about art.
Year 4 were able to bring our history lessons to life, with an exciting excursion to the British Museum! There was so much excitement as we put on our high-vis vests and headed to the train. All of us were impeccably behaved on the platform, the train and the short walk to the museum.
In our last term, all of Year 1 took their Phonics Screening Check and children tried very hard to do their best. Well done to all who passed this year. Children who missed the pass mark of 32 will have a chance to re-take it next year.
On Tuesday 11th July Year 3 visited Hyde Park to celebrate and congratulate all their hard work this year. During our visit, we enjoyed a picnic lunch, played, explored, dashed about, and let imaginations soar in the playground and explored the gardens.
The whole year group were very well-behaved throughout, and we would like to say thank you to all those adults who accompanied us on the trip.
