Message from the Head

After a lot of soul searching over the last few months I have taken the incredibly difficult decision that the time has now come for me to leave Belmore.
We are all in a strange place after the kind of turmoil we have been through in recent months and I really want to work with everyone here to get Belmore back to doing what we do so well. So I will be retiring at Easter next year. That will give the new Head time to settle in over the Summer Term ready to hit the ground running in September.
I have worked in education for over 34 years. Over 20 years of that has been working in this community, first at the original Barnhill in the 1980s and 1990s, then in the new Barnhill and for the last 7 years at Belmore. There are many children at Belmore whose parents I taught back in the day! I feel a real and genuine connection with people in this area and it will be so hard to move on.
The last few years at Belmore have been the highlight of my career, working with you, your children and working with the most incredible team of staff. I know that whoever takes over from me will be joining a phenomenally strong community of people and will inherit a school poised to achieve outstanding success.
I will keep you informed of progress in appointing my successor.
