  • Year 3 Road Safety Training

    Year 3 took part in a pedestrian training workshop run by the Hillingdon STARS Team (School Travel and Road Safety Education Team). The workshop gave children practical training in how to cross the road safely and aimed to encourage and promote safe and active travel. It was very beneficial and the children learnt a lot!

  • Anti-Discrimination Workshop

    Year 5 had the brilliant opportunity to attend an 'Anti-Discrimination' session that was delivered by Brentford FC Community Sports Trust . The children discussed topics around equality, diversity and inclusion (in both sport and our general lives). The workshop looked at some highly important issues and discussed how our children at Belmore can form an allyship with people who could be facing any kind of discrimination based on disabilities, race or gender. This session was a fantastic way to ensure we are learning the most efficient ways to help make our school and community inclusive and welcoming.

  • Life Skills at Home

  • PTA Winter Wonderland

    On Saturday 9th December, the PTA committee held our first ever Christmas event at Belmore Primary. Children were able to take part in gingerbread men decorating, Christmas card writing, face and nail painting and of course, a visit to Santa’s Grotto! A huge thank you to Door2Door Gaming for setting up a very popular gaming room and to Usborne Books for joining us too!

  • Year 5 & Year 6 STEM Workshop

    This week, some Year 5 and Year 6 children were selected to take part in a STEAM (Science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) workshop run by Brentford FC. The aim of the workshop was to encourage children to aspire towards a future career in science, engineering and sustainability. The children took part in a number of practical and hands-on activities which involved a lot of team work and even got the chance to have a Q&A session with 2 chemical engineers, who work for a company called Worley. It was a great experience for all!

  • Remembrance Day

    Plastic Stem Paper Poppy (£2 Donation) | Buy a Poppy | Poppy Shop UKOn Friday 10th November children and staff across the school observed a 1 minute silence at 11am to remember those that gave their lives in war.

    Children produced some lovely artwork and made poppies during the day.

    We managed to raise a fantastic £365.64. Thank you to all our families and friends for your generous donations.

With excitement in the air, they tried their hand at spear throwing and marvelled at fire-making demonstrations that showcased their incredible skills.

  • Black History Month

     To mark Black History Month, Years 5 and 6 were fortunate to have the opportunity to take part in an African drumming workshop. It was an amazing experience to play traditional percussion instruments and work together creating rhythms.

    We were taught a story to accompany each beat: the monkey climbed the vine; climb, climb, climb and the monkey climbed a big tree. We counted beats, rests and changed the pace.

    Year 6 described this experience as “fun, amazing, informative, inspiring” and added “We really want to have the visitor back again!”
